TORONTO – The New England Revolution (0-2-1, 1 pt.) fell to Toronto FC (2-0-0, 6 pts.), 3-2, at BMO Field on Sunday evening. Newcomer Carles Gil scored twice for the Revolution, first converting a penalty kick in the ninth minute before slotting a left-footed shot inside of the far post in the 52nd minute. Ayo Akinola, Jordan Hamilton, and Jozy Altidore were the goal scorers for Toronto, tallying in the 14th, 45th, and 80th minutes, respectively.
Gil now owns three goals in his debut MLS campaign, having also scored in the Revolution's season opener against FC Dallas.
