FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Each day, more than 3,200 children under the age of 18 smoke their first cigarette and an additional 2,100 youth and young adults become daily cigarette smokers, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The New England Revolution and CVS Health agree these numbers are far too high, which is why the organizations are joining forces in an effort to score big for the next generation by kicking tobacco use on and off the field.
The Revolution and CVS Health invite all fans to pledge to #BeTheFirst generation to lead tobacco-free lives by quitting smoking, helping friends quit smoking, or to never start smoking.
