Alston was one of only two players chosen in the second stage, with Jermaine Taylor being selected from by the Portland Timbers from Houston. Combined with just two players taken in Stage One last week, Max Urruti to Dallas and keeper Alec Kann to SKC, the drop off of players selected in the MLS Re-Entry Draft from past years is staggering, and the new Free Agent rules could be having an effect.
