New England Revolution were hoping to see Earl Edwards Jr. compete for the backup goalkeeper job in 2021. It looks like they will have to wait a bit longer.
On Wednesday the New England Revolution announced that the 29-year-old had arthroscopic knee surgery earlier in the day. The initial prognosis has him missing four to six weeks.
Edwards Jr. has made 50 professional appearances in his career. His most recent stint came with D.C. United’s affiliate Loudoun United FC.
Now of course Revolution fans know that Matt Turner has locked down the starting job, but it would have been interesting to see Brad Knighton and Edwards Jr.
