Matt Reis has returned to Major League Soccer as he’s been named to the Columbus Crew coaching staff.
Reis, 43, was a member of the New England Revolution from 2003-2013. The netminder was a stud between the sticks, collecting 93 wins and 66 shutouts in 253 starts. He was a four-time MLS All Star and made two appearances for the U.S. National Team.
After retiring, Reis switched coasts to join Bruce Arena’s coaching staff at the L.A. Galaxy. The move was a homecoming of sorts, as Reis played for UCLA and the Galaxy during the early part of his career.
