FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – While the extended MLS hiatus during the group stage of Copa America Centenario has been brutal for fans eager for action, it’s been a beneficial break for some key members of the New England Revolution.
With 14 games played the Revs are approaching the midway point of the 2016 campaign, and it’s about that time when the grind of a long season begins to take its toll. That’s why a lighter schedule has been critical for those players looking to shake off minor injuries ahead of the rest of the season.
“We don’t want to lose fitness, but we want to make sure our training sessions are a little bit shorter,” said head coach Jay Heaps.
