Major League Soccer has officially joined the instant replay movement.
On Saturday afternoon, referee Ricardo Salazar and Video Assistant Referee Hilario Grajeda made MLS history by overturning the first-ever goal with VAR technology.
It all started when FC Dallas forward Cristian Colman collided with Union goalkeeper John McCarthy while chasing a through ball. Maxi Urruti cleaned up the play by putting a shot into the back of the net, but Grajeda wanted to take a second look. After a two-minute delay, Salazar disallowed the goal, citing a foul on Colman.
