Gabriel Somi will soon return to Massachusetts to begin preseason with the New England Revolution. What happens from there is anyone’s guess.
Somi, 27, joined the Revs ahead of the 2018 season. The left back was a regular starter under new coach Brad Friedel, but saw his minutes decline because of lackluster performances. By July, he was failing to make the game day 18.
Despite this, Somi plans to be in Foxboro for preseason camp because he has one year left on his contract.
In an interview with Fotbollskanalen, a Swedish news outlet, Somi explained that he’s exploring options outside of MLS.
