The NWSL roster freeze took effect yesterday on August 29, and several teams are now announcing the results of their moves. The Boston Breakers made an adjustment to their roster, which has been hit fairly hard by injury over the course of the season, with the signing of Boston College alum Hayley Dowd.
The Breakers picked Dowd #38 overall in the 2017 NWSL college draft, but did not immediately sign her in a roster crowded with forwards. But with several players injured or leaving - Emilie Haavi has returned to Norway and Amanda Da Costa has retired - there is now room on the roster and a need to add some depth to the attack.
