FOXBORO — There is a general philosophy that Jordan Matthews adheres to, and it’s a big reason why the wide receiver chose to sign with the Patriots this offseason.
In a nutshell, Matthews doesn’t like to take the easy way out. When he visited the Pats and saw the deep group of receivers they’d assembled in the wake of the departures of Brandin Cooks and Danny Amendola, Matthews believed he was meant to take on a new challenge.
“I feel like in my life, in my foundation of what I believe in my faith, I believe I’m called on not to be comfortable,” said Matthews, who enters 2018 with 250 career receptions for 2,955 yards and 20 touchdowns after three seasons with Philadelphia and one with Buffalo.
