On Monday Night Countdown, ESPN insider Adam Schefter said former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was seen in Dallas ahead of the Cowboys Monday Night football game versus the Houston Texans.
Schefter said Belichick was in Dallas for a prior speaking engagement, but betting markets have pegged the Super Bowl-winning head coach as one the top options to replace current head coach Mike McCarthy should he leave at the end of this season.
According to Bet Online, the former Patriots head coach has the third-best odds (+600) behind Ben Johnson (+500) and Mike Vrabel (+300)
McCarthy is in the final year of a five-year deal he signed with the Cowboys in January of 2020
Schefter said teams around the league expect Belichick to be one of the leading candidates for the Cowboys job should it open.
