New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez finished fifth in voting for the Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year award, per AP's Rob Maaddi on Friday.

Gonzalez had a tremendous year after missing most of the 2023 season due to a shoulder injury. He bounced back in a big way, recording 59 combined tackles, 11 pass deflections and two interceptions in 16 games played. He was named a 2024 All-Pro for his efforts.

The only players ahead of him in the voting for the Comeback Player of the Year were Joe Burrow, J.K. Dobbins, Sam Darnold and Damar Hamlin.
