Back in 2015, Michael Crompton’s series cast Christopher Eccleston as a retired policeman running a safe house for those targeted by murderous ne’er-do-wells. It was decent, gloomy and far-fetched; we have more of the same in this four-part thriller boasting a very solid cast (Jason Watkins, Ashley Walters, Sunetra Sarker) and faintly daft premise.
True Blood’s Stephen Moyer is the cop-in-question, drawn away from his wife (Zoe Tapper) and their remote, beautiful coastal home, and back into a case long-thought cracked: a serial abductor-and-killer known as The Crow seems to be up to his old tricks, , kidnapping women then tormenting their frantic partners.
