The third preseason game usually provides the most telling clues about an NFL team heading into the regular season as it’s the game that the starters traditionally play the most.
That said, there was plenty to digest from Friday night’s 17-16 win over the Carolina Panthers.
After watching the film, here’s a compilation of takeaways from the game:
Quarterback play
• Tom Brady wasn’t very good until coming to life in the two-minute drill right before halftime. He completed 5-of-6 passes for 71 yards during that stretch, throwing a perfect 18-yard floater over Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis into into the hands of tight end Scott Chandler for a touchdown to complete the drive.
