What the Eagles are saying about the Patriots ahead of Super Bowl LII

Before Super Bowl XXXIX, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Freddie Mitchell said he didn’t know the names of the Patriots’ secondary, then proceeded to list their numbers wrong.

The Patriots beat the Eagles 24-21 and held Mitchell to just one catch in that 2004 decider. After the game, Bill Belichick let fly an uncharacteristic barb, saying, “All he does is talk. He’s terrible, and you can print that. I was happy when he was in the game.”

None of the Eagles players have so blatantly insulted New England this time around, but the underdogs are not backing down either.
