The New England Patriots reportedly showed their hand when it comes to Joe Milton III before signing veteran quarterback Josh Dobbs.
Per NFL insider Albert Breer, Dobbs was informed that he was signed by the team to be a valuable resource to second-year quarterback Drake Maye. He was also made aware that Milton would likely be moved to ensure he was the top backup option.
Breer wrote:
"The motivator behind the trade is pretty understandable. New England wanted, in Mike Vrabel’s first year, to give Maye the best environment possible in the quarterback room.
