The New York Jets were interested in hiring Mike Vrabel, but he went to their AFC East rival New England Patriots after they acted quickly in their search for a new coach.
Vrabel “blew the doors off” his interview, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported on her “Scoop City” podcast and shed light on what exactly the Jets wanted to offer him.
“They were ready to hire him. They were going to do anything they needed to do, including giving him full roster control and essentially the power to just report to the owner,” Russini said.
