What Eric Decker had to say about joining the Patriots

FOXBOROUGH — For someone who had never been a New England Patriot before last week, wide receiver Eric Decker sure is familiar with the organization.

Decker was ushered into the NFL by Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who drafted the stocky Minnesota graduate in the third round (87th overall) of the 2010 draft. McDaniels, then the head coach of the Denver Broncos, was fired after Decker’s rookie season, but the two hoped they would one day reunite.

As a free agent, Decker turned his gaze to New England this offseason, wanting to garner interest from a team he knew predicated itself on winning.
