New England Patriots kicker Joey Syle scored the only points for the team in the first half of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. He set a new franchise record by drilling a 63-yard field goal through the uprights and giving New England their first points of the game.
The score came at the end of the first half and concluded a four-play drive that took 38 seconds. The Patriots only had minus-six yards on the drive, but Slye’s kick ensured that it wasn’t a wasted opportunity.
The field goal kick is tied for the fourth-longest in NFL history.
