A little over a week after firing Jerod Mayo, the New England Patriots will introduce their next head coach: Mike Vrabel, who was hired as the 16th head coach in franchise history on Sunday, will be introduced at a press conference at Gillette Stadium on Monday at 12 p.m. ET.
The 49-year-old will take the podium alongside Patriots owner Robert Kraft. For Kraft, this presents an unpleasant déjà vu only a year after originally promoting Mayo to the head coaching position.
Unlike his predecessor, Vrabel brings some considerable coaching experience to the table. The former linebacker, who helped the Patriots win three Super Bowls and was later voted to their Hall of Fame, had served as an assistant coach at Ohio State and with the Houston Texans before taking over as Tennessee Titans head coach in 2018.
