The New England Patriots were very concerned after rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez limped off the field with what initially looked like an ankle or foot injury last week.
Gonzalez landed awkwardly while trying to break up a pass near the end of the practice and hobbled to the sideline where he was met by the medical staff. The concern was the team’s first-round pick (No. 17) in the 2023 NFL draft might have sustained an injury that would jeopardize his availability for the start of the regular season.
The team’s concerns were relieved after the former Oregon Ducks’ star was seen jogging without any apparent issues during pre-game warmups before the Patriots’ preseason game against the Tennessee Titans Friday night.
