FOXBOROUGH — The New England Patriots have experienced their fair share of wild passing plays against them in the postseason, including one very memorable play in the super bowl.
So when Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith dodged two potential sacks, bounced off a lineman and then threw a 26-yard completion to Jason Avant down the sideline on a 3rd-and-7 play in the NFC divisional playoffs Saturday, it was a familiar scene.
A play so absurd you'd expect it to happen against the Pats in the Super Bowl pic.
