Wait for Deflategate ruling continues

Another day went by without a resolution in the “Deflategate” scandal, which now rests with a federal court judge who has promised to issue a decision “by the end of the week.”

U.S. District Court Judge Richard Berman issued at least eight orders in unrelated cases, but the Deflategate docket remained quiet throughout the day. Berman is expected to decide whether NFL commissioner Roger Goodell used an adequate process to suspend Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for four games.

Pending a ruling, the suspension would begin Saturday at 4 p.m. when rosters must be trimmed to 53.

On Tuesday, Berman issued a brief order essentially explaining that he wasn’t done penning his decision.
