Before Monday night’s matchup with the Chicago Bears, the New England Patriots had defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington mic’d up during practice.
Covington is in the midst of his sixth season as a Patriots coach and third as the defensive line coach. He previously served as the outside linebacker coach after two seasons as a coaching assistant.
On Friday, head coach Bill Belichick discussed Covington’s growth as a coach during his Patriots tenure.
“DeMarcus [Covington] does a really good job. I met him at Chattanooga and kind of got to know him there.
