Coming into the 2022 season, there were many questions surrounding the Patriots’ secondary following the loss of J.C. Jackson in free agency. As a result, players like Jalen Mills were expected to step up to help fill the Pro Bowler’s void at cornerback.
Through nine games this season, Mills has upped his game. Opposing quarterbacks are completing 39% of their passes with Mills in coverage and he has logged two pass breakups and two interceptions. On Sunday against the Colts, quarterback Sam Ehlinger was 0/4 when throwing in Mills’ direction. His performance was arguably the best of his season.
