FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots are dangerously thin at cornerback, and as part of keeping their emergency lists fresh, they have taken a closer look at veteran Cortland Finnegan.
The nine-year veteran who has played for the Titans (2006-2011), Rams (2012-2013) and Dolphins (2014) worked out for the Patriots this week. Finnegan had previously said he was retiring, but is now open to playing.
The 31-year-old started 12 games for Miami last season and was credited with eight passes defended.
The NFL Network first reported Finnegan's workout with the Patriots.
