Undrafted rookies with Alabama roots get NFL contracts

A week after the NFL Draft ended, the league’s 32 teams have done most of the work to fill the 90 slots on their offseason rosters.

During the past week, the teams have released their lists of undrafted rookies who have agreed to contracts, joining the drafted players in the incoming group of pro prospects. While 255 players were drafted April 23-25, more than 350 undrafted rookies have been added to NFL rosters since then.

Twenty of those undrafted rookies are from Alabama high schools and colleges, including eight who played at Auburn. The undrafted rookies with state football roots agreeing to NFL contracts during the past week include:

· Jeremiah Dinson, safety, Auburn: Detroit Lions

· Will Hastings, wide receiver, Auburn: New England Patriots

· Mike Horton, guard, Auburn: Carolina Panthers
