Tyrone Wheatley Jr. reverted to injured reserve on Saturday after going through waivers unclaimed, according to the NFL transaction wire. Barring an injury settlement at a later date, the move ends the offensive tackle’s season in the second week of training camp.
Wheatley, 27, was waived with the injury designation on Friday after being sidelined from the previous practice. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound bookend had arrived from the Cleveland Browns last August in exchange for running back Pierre Strong Jr.
