More than half the country hates or dislikes U.S. President Donald Trump, but the rest likes or loves him. That is the peril for the National Football League and its advertisers and media partners in the fight over players protesting by not standing for the U.S. national anthem.
Trump’s comments that the NFL should fire players and fans should boycott for those who refuse to stand during the anthem resulted in three teams (the Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans) staying in their locker rooms during the "Star Spangled Banner.
