FOXBOROUGH — Trey Flowers was a surprise absence from practice Friday morning as the Patriots started to wrap up their preparations for Sunday’s home game against the Vikings.
If Flowers can’t go Sunday, it would be a big blow to New England’s pass rush, as the fourth-year defensive end is second on the team with 3½ sacks and tied for tops with 12 quarterback hits.
Flowers had been present and unlimited at practice all week. He hasn’t missed any time since Week 3 when he sat out the Lions game after suffering a concussion against the Jaguars the week before.
