Before the start of Friday's training camp, NFL official Tony Steratore spoke to the media about various rules changes and points of emphasis heading into this season. Although there were a number of questions regarding the procedure of testing the psi levels in footballs going forward, Steratore mostly deflected most of the answers as matters for football operations.
With Tom Brady still fighting a four-game suspension revolving the case of deflated footballs in the AFC Championship, Steratore reiterated the procedure before games will involve two members of the crew checking the balls. Some games will involve random halftime checks, but for the most part, the issues concerning the balls will be dealt with by football ops.
