FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Opening night couldn’t have gone much better for the New England Patriots, who unveiled their new Super Bowl banner in a stirring pre-game ceremony and then defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 28-21 at rain-soaked Gillette Stadium.
The headliners, as they often are, were quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski.
