Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski will not play in the Pro Bowl this weekend.
Brady said yesterday his first priority this offseason was to recover from his bumps and bruises. He sprained his ankle in Week 17 and was hit an eye-popping 25 times by the Broncos in the AFC Championship Game. Gronkowski has dealt with a knee injury that has required routine maintenance since Week 12.
They've been replaced by Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston and Browns tight end Gary Barnidge.
Patriots special teams captain Matthew Slater also said today he was unsure if he'd participate in the Pro Bowl for injury reasons.
