Tom Brady named AFC Offensive Player of the Month; Gostkowski earns special teams honor

After missing out on three consecutive weekly awards, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month today.

Brady certainly was deserving of the league's weekly awards — as he has gotten off to one of the best starts of his career. Nevertheless, the 38-year-old was passed over each time, making some wonder if his offseason issues with the league were the reason for the snub.

However, it would have been tough to deny him the monthly honor. Brady leads the AFC in touchdown passes (9), yards (1,112), yards per game (370.
