Tom Brady a full participant in Patriots practice; Rob Gronkowski limited

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, a sign that his recovery from a sprained right ankle has gone smoothly.

Meanwhile, tight end Rob Gronkowski was added to the injury report (knee) after having been removed from it the week leading into the team's Dec. 20 victory over the Titans. He was a limited participant Wednesday after having been held out of Tuesday's full-padded practice.

Those were the two biggest takeaways from the Patriots' injury report, which included 17 players.

Meanwhile, rookie guard Tre' Jackson was the only player not to practice Wednesday (knee), while 12 players were limited: Gronkowski, receiver Danny Amendola (knee), tight end Scott Chandler (knee), cornerback Justin Coleman (concussion), safety Nate Ebner (hand), receiver Julian Edelman (foot), linebacker Jonathan Freeny (hand), linebacker Dont'a Hightower (knee), defensive end Chandler Jones (abdomen/toe), defensive end Rob Ninkovich (shin), offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer (ankle) and offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle (shoulder).
