This J.C. Jackson comment from Jerod Mayo raised eyebrows

It’s no secret that former New England Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson is struggling to live up to the five-year, $82.5 million contract he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in the offseason.

Things got so bad that the former All-Pro defensive back got benched in the Chargers’ Monday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos. Considering we’re only six weeks into the season, the word bad might even be an understatement at this point when it comes to a player Los Angeles expects to be one of the cornerstones of their defense.

Patriots inside linebackers coach Jerod Mayo must have been watching on Monday night because that’s the direction he took a media conversation in, when asked about former Patriots struggling to find success on other teams.
