FOXBORO — It doesn’t matter what team you play for, intercepting a ball thrown by Tom Brady is bound to get noticed. The same can be said for ripping the ball away from Rob Gronkowski.
Third-year safety Jordan Richards did just that yesterday as the Patriots put pads on for the first time during training camp. His play through the first three days has been one of the brighter spots on the defensive side of the ball.
It is a critical time for Richards, a second-round pick out of Stanford in 2015 who was active for just 11 games last season and inactive throughout the playoffs.
