The Patriots and Titans exchanged a pair of trick plays at Nissan Stadium Sunday afternoon.
On third and 7 in the fourth quarter, quarterback Tom Brady handed the ball off to running back James White, who dished it to wide receiver Julian Edelman, who then threw an off-balance pass back to Brady. After making the catch, Brady awkwardly stumbled his way to Tennesse’s 37-yard line but fell a yard short of the first down.
The reception was Brady’s third of his career and first since 2013.
New England went for it on fourth and 1, but offensive tackle Marcus Cannon was called for a false start to push the Patriots back five yards.
