FOXBOROUGH — Tom Brady isn’t expected to play Thursday night in the Patriots’ preseason opener against Washington. He is, however, expected to get a nice raise.
According to an ESPN report, the NFL’s reigning MVP will have his contract adjusted within the next 24 hours to bring his compensation more in line with the salaries of the league’s other top quarterbacks.
Brady was scheduled to make $15 million this season — $14 million in salary and $1 million in 46-man roster bonuses — and with the new incentives, he could earn significantly more — perhaps as much as $5 million, according to the report.
