Alan Branch is the Patriots version of Gene Gene the Dancing Machine — when he’s showing off his moves, everybody’s having a good time.
Branch, New England’s behemoth defensive tackle, did a lot of dancing last season, perhaps the best of his 10-year career. His stout play on the field and guidance of the younger interior players are big reasons the 6-foot-6-inch, 350-pounder was signed to a two-year, $12 million deal last month.
Branch has great strength, an enormous wingspan, and underrated quickness on the defensive line for the Patriots. He’s not alone.
