Imagine Rex Ryan just droning on. Have him control every facet of the organization, from preparing the game plans to drawing up how everyone eats, thinks, trains and talks.
In other words, imagine him being just like Bill Belichick. The image doesn’t work, does it? It doesn’t compute.
Neither does the reverse.
Try and picture Belichick allowing his players to say and do whatever they want, providing opponents motivational fuel every week. Is it even possible to have a Belichick-coached team with no discipline?
Or how about Belichick turning into some witty, charming, over-the-top, bombastic piece of work like Ryan?
