The MBTA is likely experiencing its highest ridership ever on the commuter rail Tuesday as New England Patriots fans across New England travel into Boston for the Patriots’ Super Bowl parade, according to a statement from Keolis Commuter Services.
“We are seeing extraordinary ridership levels across the entire network, notably higher than seen for previous parades and almost certainly the highest ridership ever seen on the network,” Keolis wrote in the statement. “In anticipation of today’s expected crowds, the MBTA and Keolis deployed additional coach cars to increase capacity as much as resources allow – more passenger capacity than the network has ever operated.
