PHILADELPHIA − Nolan Smith has seen this many times before, so he can certainly empathize with the New England Patriots when they'll have to adjust on the fly to account for Eagles rookie Jalen Carter.
And they will have to adjust.
Sure, it might seem like hyperbole considering that Carter, a defensive tackle, will be playing in his first-ever NFL game Sunday when the Eagles face the Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts. And that Carter only had a total of nine snaps in the two preseason games he played in.
Smith, an edge rusher and Carter's teammate at the University of Georgia, said he has benefitted tremendously from watching opposing teams change their blocking strategy during a game to account for Carter.
