Texans claim offensive lineman Zachary Thomas off waivers from Patriots

Former director of player personnel Nick Caserio has taken a flier from his old stomping grounds.

The general manager’s Houston Texans claimed offensive lineman Zachary Thomas off waivers from the New England Patriots on Wednesday, according to the NFL transaction wire.

Thomas, 26, became the corresponding move after his previous team signed fellow lineman Tyrese Robinson to the 53-man roster. He had arrived in Foxborough as a waiver claim in August.

From there, the 6-foot-5, 305-pound San Diego State product appeared in eight games, working between left tackle and left guard while totaling 84 snaps on offense and 24 snaps on special teams.
