Contrary to initial reports, Terrance Knighton's one-year contract with the New England Patriots is worth just over $2 million, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Shortly after the signing, Knighton's deal had been reported to be worth $4.5 million.
Here is the breakdown, via Reiss:
Base salary: $900,000
Signing bonus: $250,000
Cap charge: $2.018 million
The deal also includes $300,000 in incentives, $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses and $100,000 in workout bonuses.
Knighton, who chose the Patriots over the Redskins, is scheduled to speak with the New England media Wednesday.
