FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots visit the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday night, and of the many storylines that make it one of the NFL’s most intriguing season-opening games, there’s little doubt which one the late, influential Boston Globe football reporter Will McDonough would like best.
His son Terry grew up a Patriots fan in Hingham, Mass., and got his start in the NFL as an area scout on Bill Belichick's Cleveland Browns staff in 1992.
Now, as vice president of player personnel for the Cardinals, Terry has played an integral role in helping put some of the key personnel pieces in place for one of the NFL’s best teams, one that hopes to make life difficult Sunday night for the team he cheered for as a youngster from section 316 at Schaefer Stadium.
