Bill Belichick's coaching tree has now morphed into a family tree.
Belichick promoted his son, Steve Belichick, to safeties coach among a series of offseason coaching changes that were officially announced today. Steve Belichick had been a coaching assistant since 2012, so his new role serves as a significant increase in exposure and responsibilities.
The Patriots also formally announced the rehiring of offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia, who took over the role last month after Dave DeGuglielmo was fired.
Brian Flores took over as the linebackers coach in place of Patrick Graham, who surprisingly left to coach the Giants defensive line.
