Former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore had a two-word response to the New England Patriots' new dynamic cornerback pairing of Christian Gonzalez and Carlton Davis.
"This tough," Gilmore posted on X, followed by a fire emoji.
Gonzalez emerged as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL in only his second full season last year. He earned his first All-Pro nod and helped solidify a defensive backfield that was a strength for the Patriots.
Unfortunately for opposing quarterbacks, the Patriots inked Davis to a three-year deal in free agency. Davis is a former Super Bowl champion with a strong reputation for his sticky coverage.
