Dante Scarnecchia and the New England Patriots have reached a deal for him to return as the team's offensive line coach, sources told ESPN's Adam Caplan.
Scarnecchia had retired following the 2013 season after 32 years in the NFL, 30 of which came in New England (1982-88; 1991-2013). He coached the offensive line for his final 15 seasons in New England, and has remained around the team since his retirement, primarily helping with evaluations of college offensive linemen entering the NFL.
Scarnecchia, who turned 68 on Sunday, earned the 2015 Paul "Dr. Z" Zimmerman Award by the Professional Football Writers of America.
