FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have informed quarterback Bailey Zappe that he will be waived, sources told ESPN.
Zappe finished the preseason 15 of 25 for 137 yards, with no touchdowns and no interceptions. He played 36 snaps in the opener, the most of any quarterback, as he entered after veteran starter Jacoby Brissett and Drake Maye played one series apiece.
But then he hardly saw the field, playing just five snaps in the second preseason game, and six in the finale, as the majority of time went to rookies Maye and Joe Milton III.
